This geNiUSbook is concerned with the objects and structures around us and how they react to the forces acting on them. From impressive tall buildings in beautiful cities of the world, to spectacular long suspension bridges spanning across rivers, to massive colossal dams retaining tons of water in a reservoir, to stunning gigantic Ferris wheels bringing tourists high up to advantage view points, to amazing deep tunnels below sea beds cutting short travel times, to very large floating structures that create useable space in the sea that are highly adaptable to climate change, all these structures must withstand both the forces of nature and the forces that mankind has intended for them.  The principles that engineers use to create these structures are deceivingly simple, and it is the intent to explain these principles and fundamental concepts in a clear, straightforward manner.
